FIRST WORLD RIMFIRE BENCHREST
CHAMPIONSHIP
The
Sporting Shooters Association of Australia (Inc) will be the host for the First
World Rimfire Benchrest Championship being conducted by the World Benchrest
Shooting Federation. The championship
will be held in Brisbane, Capital City of the State of Queensland from 20th
May, 2012 to 26th May, 2012.
This championship is scheduled to be held at the Brisbane Branch of the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia range facility. The Brisbane Branch is one of over 60 branches in the State of Queensland. The range is situated approximately 20 minutes from the Brisbane city centre and 20 minutes from the Brisbane airport.

The rifle range will be closed from Sunday 20th May, 2012 through to and including Saturday 26th May, 2012 for the World Benchrest Shooting Federation Rimfire Championships.

The Harry Madden Memorial Competition will be held on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th November, 2012
The SSAA Brisbane 500M Fly shoot wil be held on Monday 12th November, 2012

The S.S.A.A. Brisbane branch is situated 20 minutes from the city and 20 minutes from the airport. Set in natural bushland, the range is truly a part of the beautiful city of Brisbane and is part of the Belmont Range Complex which takes up 504.3 hectares (1250 acres). Most of the complex site users have substantially upgraded their facilities to world standard.
The range comprises a rifle range of 30 benches with target frames established at 50 metres, 100, 200, 300 and 400 yards. The rifle range also has a standing post area (500 metres) suitable for various disciplines such as rifle metallic silhouette (air rifle, rimfire and centrefire), field rifle, lever action, military/service rifle and junior target shooters. There is also and indoor air rifle running target range, indoor air pistol range, pistol range (50 and 200 metres) and two clay target layouts with both trap and skeet ranges.
The club has in excess of 10,000 members drawn from the Brisbane city area and is open for members, visitors and non-members seven days a week including public holidays.
